LAW-RELATED
Hosts one large-scale event that prepares students for the law school admissions process each month during the academic year.
MENTOR/MENTEE
Hosts two events to promote bonding and relationships between mentors and mentees each month during the academic year.
INTERNAL AFFAIRS
Hosts one large-scale event to engage PLHS members in social events where members can get to know each other through fun activities, on or off campus, each month during the academic year.
MENTAL HEALTH & WELLNESS
Hosts one large-scale event that engages members in activities that can be helpful for the body or mind each month during the academic year.
MOCK TRIAL
PLHS has both an in-house and competitive mock trial team. Our competitive mock trial team competes in a semesterly tournament hosted by PLHS and Phi Alpha Deta, which regularly hosts other schools across the United States. For more information, see the Mock Trial page.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Organizes one large-scale volunteer project/event benefiting the local community each month during the academic year and organizes at least one donation drive per semester.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Plans our Fall and Spring retreats and banquets. This committee also co-hosts the annual Spring event Law in the Swamp, where students can network with law school representatives.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
Maintains our social media, website, and newsletter and prepares additional promotional materials for tabling and other events.
DIVERSITY
Hosts one large-scale event that educates members about disparities that marginalized groups face in the legal field and foster an open-communication dialogue for members each month during the academic year.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Plans at least one networking event per year. Maintains an accurate internship database. Hosts and organizes office hours at least once a week.
EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
& RECRUITMENT
Plans and executes Recruitment Week at the beginning of each semester. Organizes tabling and postering throughout the year, and promotes PLHS through email ListServs. Organizes the presence of PLHS at third-party events.
FUNDRAISING
Organizes at least one large-scale and one small-scale fundraising event each month during the academic year. Purchasing, organizes, and distributes merchandise. Sends out sponsorship/proposal packets and maintains professional relationships with sponsors.
LSAT PREP
Organizes two LSAT study sessions each month during the academic year. Fosters a supportive, focused environment for members to prepare effectively.
Join Our Mock Trial Team!
PLHS members have the opportunity to participate in our mock trial program, which is composed of both in-house and competitive teams. Our cases run on a semester basis and meetings are designed to teach the necessary skills for competing in mock trial competitions, with both civil and criminal cases. The semester concludes with tournaments for both the in-house and competitive teams!

IN-HOUSE v. COMPETITIVE teams
Our in-house team is an introduction to mock trial and a great learning experience, while our competitive team offers a unique opportunity for experienced individuals. Competitive team members are required to try out to be accepted onto the team, whereas our In-House team is open to anyone who is interested.
Requirements
Mock trial members must be PLHS members (pay dues and meet their point requirement). Mock trial practices are worth 4 points each, and are mandatory for mock trial members.

OUR MISSION
The Pre-Legal Honor Society is an organization aimed at orienting undergraduate students with the legal profession and law school. We hope to achieve this through meetings in which we will hear speakers from the legal community, engage in community service projects, disseminate internship information, learn about law schools, and engage in other pre-law activities.
Pre-Legal Honor Society offers a variety of events and opportunities that prepare students for applying to law school and entering the legal field, and enhances their undergraduate experience as a pre-law student.
